Status: RC1 Target Release Date: August 3rd. 2026.
The Release Candidate is a feature complete release of the software for final public user and acceptance testing. If all tests are passed the candidate becomes the release version.
Saito Refactor (2026) is the largest update to the Saito platform since mainnet. It brings together months of work across the networking stack, consensus engine, and user interface into a single, cohesive upgrade. Beyond improving usability and adding DeFi support to the network, this release brings Saito to a new level of usability.
You will notice Saito feels different, faster and more polished:
Whether users are creating digital assets, playing games, writing a blog post, building applications, posting on RedSquare or just having a video call, the experience is good.
This page is not a roadmap or a preview of future ideas. It is a snapshot of what the Saito network supports today. Given the breadth of changes, this page summarizes the major capabilities in the upgrade. For more specific details on the changes made in any category we invite readers to consult the detailed change logs in each subsection below.
Efficiency gains in the Rust/WASM pipeline make Saito nodes faster and more scalable. Applications also feel more responsive as a result. Under the hood, these improvements allow developers to access almost any function that exists in the Rust layer as if it is coded in javascript, allowing new kinds of DeFi applications to be built that are not possible on EVMs → learn more...
Create your own tokens on Saito, and create and send NFTs as easily as ordinary payments, splitting and merging them or locking them into programmable scripts that support multisig and enforced royalty payments and more. Whether you're creating game assets, access keys, subscriptions, collectibles, or your own cryptocurrency, every asset on Saito works automatically in every Saito application without the need for custom smart contracts or application-specific integrations → learn more...
Saito now supports DeFi applications. Even better, our RustScript programming language allows you to quickly and easy write scripts that specify who can spend assets, access network-protected content, claim rewards, or enjoy alumni benefits. This scripting language can be used by any application, to require ownership of NFTs to joining communicaties, connecting with friends, access content and more → learn more...
Sell items Peer to Peer without middlement and without having to stay on line. Publish an offer and let the network handle the transaction whenever a buyer arrives. New applications like the Saito Store use programmable scripts to let buyers and sellers exchange assets securely with no need for a trusted marketplace to hold their funds or NFTs. Themes, subscriptions, collectibles, applications, game assets, and more can be exchanged in secure atomic swaps that can execute anytime and from anywhere in the Saito ecosystem → learn more...
Publish content, create access keys, list them for sale, and let readers purchase access from inside Saito Stack and other applications. Throughout the Saito App Suite, Saito applications now share wallets, scripts, and marketplace integration in ways that feel truly seemless. This is decentralization as it is meant to be -- no incoherent mashup of smart contracts and inconsistent standards. learn more...
Applications now explain what they're doing as they interact with the network, showing live progress instead of leaving users wondering if something has happened. A cleaner interface, faster updates, reusable components, and a simpler design make Saito feel reliable. You'll know exactly what is happening and why every time you use it → learn more...
Refactor 2026 gives developers direct access to the full power of the Saito network through a cleaner API, reusable interface components, richer events, and a unified architecture. Whether you are running a server or distributing apps as standalone software packages, development is easier at every step of the journey. → learn more...
